Where Art & History Meet
About Theatrics Unlimited, Inc.

Founded in 1979 by Sharon V. Willis, an accomplished Costumer and make-up artist, Theatrics Unlimited Inc., is a professional costume house providing rentals and sales, custom design and construction, an on location wardrobe and make-up staff, retail accessories and hair goods for special events, production and performance..

Our spacious 13,000 square foot showroom, built in 1915 and located in historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina, stocks over 23,000 rental costumes and a full division of retail accessories, hair goods and make-up to serve your immediate needs. A complete workshop and construction area is available to create special designs, mascot or costume characters, and to coordinate you production and performance wardrobe requirements.

Our historic location (and our admitted fascination for costume history) has spawned an extensive selection of 18th to 19th century costumes and a special strength in the design and creation of military and men’s wear from these eras.

We are proud to include the following corporations and foundations as our clients: Joseph Seagram and Sons (NY and International), the Folger Shakespeare Foundation (Washington, D. C.), Cosgrove Meurer Productions (Los Angeles), The Principal Film Company (London), Reading Rainbow (New York), SCETV (Colombia) , Thalhimers, USN, USAF, M & M Mars, The Smithsonian, Carolina Opry, Dixie Stampeded, Alabama Theatre, and Ashland Highland Theatres, among others.

Our secondary School and Collegiate clientele include award winning Stanton College Prep & Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. (FL) Longwood College, (VA) Wofford College, (SC) VMI and Liberty University, (VA) to name a few.

We recently ventured into Television and film production work completing wardrobe, costume and/or make-up for: Die Hard 111, Ace Ventura: Back to nature and the television series, Unsolved Mysteries.

We are proud to announce our reproduction and creation of Josephine Bonaparte’s coronation robe. And gown won the Warren Hedricks Award for Authenticity. The Smithsonian features both the robe and gown in its Educational Film Series on "Gems".

As a member of the National Costumers Association, TUI is dedicated to providing fine quality costumes and a make-up service to meet the customers needs. Our familiarity with other rental houses and our dedication to our customers means TUI will take that extra step to make your event a success.
